CYN Lunch Tour 2015
In May, we had another GREAT CYN Lunch Tour with over 450 youth leaders registered across 11 Ontario locations.
“I’ve been in youth ministry for over 20 years and found a real help to my personal growth and ministry acumen has been opportunities to network with and receive training from people who are passionate about the same things as I am. The CYN Lunch Tour provides one such opportunity each year.” – Martin Nieuwets, Bethany Community Church, St.Catharines
Change Conference 2015
We are celebrating 130 first time decisions to follow Christ that were made at Change Conference this year.
“The Change Conference was life changing for me. It really convicted me and showed me that I was holding on to something that could save someone from life or death, and that I want to share my faith, be bold, and hold nothing back.” – Student from Newmarket
“[at Change Conference] when we all were singing I had a sense of calming and self worth to God. It’s hard to exactly explain the experience, but I definitely felt that I was getting called by God to leave my selfish ways and run back to him.” – Student from Kitchener
“Seven years ago I gave my heart to Jesus at the Change Conference. Now I’m a Director at a Christian camp in southern Ontario.” – Former Student from Brantford
“As a result of the Change Conference, we have two young men who are starting a Christian Club in their schools. They hope to be running Youth Alpha, starting in the next week or two”. – Joey Molloy, The Met, Ottawa
Pastoring / Coaching / Networking in 2015
A significant part of our work is to connect on a regular basis with youth leaders in a pastoral/coaching role or encouraging collaborative partnership between local churches.
“It was a blessing to have Dale come and visit with myself and other youth pastors at our monthly HYN meeting last month. He truly has a wealth of networking and youth ministry experience. CYN is such an invaluable resource to Youth Pastors and Youth Workers.” – Ethan Clark, Philpott Memorial Church
In May, Tracey & I (Dale) celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary as well as 25 years in full time ministry. After 21 years of staying home to raise our children Tracey has re-entered the work force as a dental assistant at an orthodontic clinic in Keswick and Uxbridge. Wesley is continuing his studies at Waterloo University. Tyler, after taking a year to work, is now attending Durham College. Tim continues to work on a farm and is in his final year at Keswick High School. Larissa is loving grade 10 in the arts program at Huron Heights in Newmarket and has a wonderful group of Christian girlfriends. We praise God that each of our children are committed to their faith in Jesus and we are adjusting to the changes in our home life as our house is starting to empty.
2015 has been an exciting year for Michael and I (Olivia)! We are busy getting ready for the upcoming arrival of our baby boy who is due in January. Michael is continuing to work as the Assistant Pastor at a church in Burlington and I am enjoying planning CYN’s events throughout the year as well as assisting Michael at the church. God has been extremely faithful in 2015, and we are excited to see what God has in store for 2016.
